Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts announced last night the sale of their superyacht Project Altea, YN 19550, the second yacht to be built on the Nova Plus design and platform. The 50-metre motor yacht has an all aluminium superstructure, featuring the patent Fast Displacement Hull Form, the Hybrid Solution and Hull Vane technology developed by Van Oossanen.

She features a contemporary exterior design by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, and though she began as a speculative build, she was quickly purchased by her owner, an experienced Heesen charterer. Her interiors have been penned by Cristiano Gatto, and feature six staterooms across her 500 GT volumes, accommodating up-to 12 guests. The owners are now working in close collaboration with Gatto to finalise the interior stylings to customise her to their own personal style.

Colours have already been chosen, with deep blue dominating the main deck, accented by purple hues in her sky lounge. Bespoke furniture by Paola Lenti has already been selected to complete the elegant aesthetic.

Project Altea will primarily be used as a family yacht by her owners, who were represented by Franco Ambrosi of Zarpo Yachts in the purchase. She will also be offered for charter in the Mediterranean under the supervision of Zarpo Yachts and Tony Lovec Yacht Management.

The motor yacht reaches a top speed of 19.5 knots, with a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 3,750 nautical miles under her two 1,44hp engines. The vessel, which will soon be ready for sea trials in the North Sea, will be taken care of by a crew of nine.
